Infused Basic Bread From Scratch (THC Sugar Loaf)

Homemade bread is simple, reliable, and an excellent carrier for a mild infusion. This loaf uses infused sugar mixed directly into the dough, allowing the potency to disperse evenly during hydration and kneading. The result is a soft, classic loaf with consistent dosing.

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose or bread flour

1 cup warm water (105–110°F)

2 teaspoons infused sugar (use your preferred potency)

2 teaspoons regular sugar (optional, helps yeast activate)

2 teaspoons salt

2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)

Potency Example:
If your infused sugar contains 10 mg THC per teaspoon, this loaf contains ~20 mg total. Adjust based on preference.

Instructions

1. Activate the Yeast

1. Add warm water to a mixing bowl.

2. Stir in the infused sugar until dissolved.

3. Sprinkle yeast on top.

4. Allow to sit for 5–10 minutes, or until foamy.

2. Build the Dough

1. Add 2 cups of the flour.

2. Add the salt.

3. Mix until the dough becomes sticky and shaggy.

3. Knead

1. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface.

2. Knead for 8–10 minutes.

3. Dough is ready when smooth, elastic, and springy.

4. First Rise

1. Lightly oil a bowl.

2. Place the dough inside and cover.

3. Let rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled.

5. Shape the Loaf

1. Punch the dough down gently.

2. Flatten into a rectangle.

3. Roll into a tight loaf and pinch the seam closed.

4. Place seam-side down in a greased loaf pan.

6. Second Rise

Let the dough rise again for 30–45 minutes, until puffy and expanded.

7. Bake

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.

8. Cool

Allow the loaf to cool 20–30 minutes before slicing to protect the crumb.

Dosing Notes

Potency depends entirely on your infused sugar.

THC remains stable during baking due to moisture protection within the dough.
